‘ve been shooting in Guangzhou for over 15 years now. Most of my work is at events and parties — capturing the joy, the laughter, the moments people will want to remember. I love doing portraits too — no heavy editing, no filters trying to fix you. Just who you actually are, at your best and most real.
A few years back, I took a break from full-time shooting to work as an Art Director and Project Manager at an AI data company. It gave me a front-row seat to how these tools actually work — and I think they’re genuinely exciting. AI opens up so much room to create, to imagine things that never existed before. But it also made me appreciate what it can’t do: it can’t hand you a memory that actually happened. A real moment, with real people, that’s yours and no one else’s. That part still belongs to photography.
So I came back to it with a clearer idea of what I want to make. These days I’m working on moving into video. A photo captures a moment — video lets you stay in it a little longer. That’s where I want to take things next.
